This Fall we are bringing some exciting new classes to Brickhouse Cardio Club! We are offering you more ways to Change Your Life!
2 years ago I experienced R.E.D. Warrior® for the first time when Jani Roberts, who helped develop the Zumba® Toning program for Zumba® Fitness, first introduced this new format at the Zumba® Instructor Convention. I instantly fell in love with this workout that fuses elements of dance with Mauy Thai, Kickboxing, Bootcamp and Capoeira, the Brazilian Fighting Dance, with exciting music and movement.
R.E.D. Warrior will be offered every Wednesday at 7:30 pm and led by me. What’s even more exciting for us all is that I am the first R.E.D. Warrior instructor in Ohio and this will be the first time that this class is offered anywhere in Ohio!
From the R.E.D. Warrior website…
“R.E.D. Warrior® Nation is an empowerment movement. Everything we do is based on the belief that we can help people live a more empowered lifestyle.
We do this through our Revolutionary Empowerment Disciplines:
- The R.E.D. Warrior ® Workout – a unique practice that fuses the mentality and movement of martial arts with the physicality of functional fitness. Similar to the practice of martial arts and yoga, the movement does not change often, rather the participants understanding of the movement evolves. Think about it this way— which do you think is more effective? “Practicing 10,000 kicks ONE time or practicing ONE kick 10,000 times?”- Bruce Lee
- Moving Meditations – A kata (a short combination of movement that is done over and over to expand understanding) set to music based on an emotion, used to enhance and improve your emotional state by giving you time to feel, focus and Quiet the Mind™. The discipline of this practice will assist you in remaining more in alignment throughout your day.
- Inspirational Conversations – are designed to assist the Warrior with overcoming their negative self-talk. Through the R.E.D. Warrior® empowerment teachings, you will explore how to create what you want in your life.”
If you attended one of the Insanity® Live Master Classes, taught by Master Trainer Sarah Placencia, you know all about Insanity® and know that it’s for everyone! Instructor Melissa Keesing will be leading this class every Monday & Wednesday at 5:45 pm.
INSANITY® LIVE is challenging, group-focused athletic training, cardio conditioning, and total-body strength drills, designed for people of all levels. The moves are easy to follow—but the workout WILL challenge you, change you, and get you in the best shape of your life. So as you’re giving it your all, just when you feel like your body is about to max out on certain movements, you’re saved by the bell and it’s time for the next block of moves. Plus, moves can always be modified so you can work up to your own best level.
It’s about letting go of your excuses, your limits, and everything that holds you back—and challenging yourself to Dig Deep. Get ready to unleash your inner athlete and reach your personal best—because progress starts outside your comfort zone. And your classmates are right there with you to help get you through it.
Indoor Cycling (and outdoor too) has been a passion of mine for many years. This is why we are so excited to be able to bring this format to Brickhouse! Classes will be taught by Kris Chick and will be offered every Monday & Wednesday at 6:30 pm and every Saturday morning at 7:30 am.
Indoor Cycling is great for everyone and you are truly in control of your own workout since you control the tension on the bike. Cycling is low impact and great for people with knee problems too. The biggest worry is will your butt hurt, and it may be a tad sore the first couple of times but after cycling for a few weeks 2-3 times a week you’ll never be sore down there again! You’re gonna be sore in other places – but only in the best possible way!
[Indoor Cycling is] a highly effective cardio and strength workout. In one 45-minute class, you’ll ride a stationary bike to the beat of awesome music—and burn up to 600 calories in the process. Not only will your lungs be pumping, you’ll also work your glutes, calves, quads, hamstrings, and core. Studies show that over time, indoor cycling can decrease body fat and body mass index, and improve overall cardiovascular function.
Indoor cycling is definitely intense and fast-paced, but it’s a great sport for any fitness level. Unlike running, cycling is low-impact, and because you determine how hard you work and your bike’s resistance, pulling or straining a muscle is highly unlikely…http://greatist.com/move/indoor-cycling-for-beginners
